An Introduction to My BDSM Journey

I found out about BDSM when I was in Highschool. I read the book series “Fifty Shades of Grey” and thought, ‘what is all the hype about?’ To me, there didn’t seem to be anything wrong. So I decided to search more into what BDSM is. The books that were given to me by a family member were approved by my mother who felt and I quote “Wasnt grown enough” to read them herself, but she let me read them and I think for most of us in this lifestyle we found our way into this by accident but chose to stay on purpose. We all found something that kept us wanting more.

I found “The Story of O” and it changed much for me. I quickly learned that things could go much deeper than I saw in previous books or movies. For those that don’t know what “The Story of O” is I will give you my Viewpoint:

“The Story of O” is a novel written by Pauline Réage, It is a controversial and erotic novel that explores themes of Dominance, submission, and sexual obsession.

The story revolves around a young woman named O, who willingly enters into a secret world of BDSM (bondage, discipline, Dominance, submission, Sadism, and masochism). O’s lover, René, introduces her to this realm and encourages her to embrace her submissive nature. René and other men in O’s life subject her to sexual Domination, humiliation, and degradation.

O submits and enjoys the experiences and finds pleasure in her own objectification. Soon Rene gives her to another man, Sir Stephen, not because he doesn’t love her or want her but because he’s been planning to share her with him all along. I feel as though he was preparing her for him the entire time. She is resistant at first but she quickly finds that Sir Stephen is just the man she needs.

I connected with O in so many ways. She opened herself up to so many new experiences and found the greatest pleasure in giving of herself to her master in any way he asked or demanded. Some people say there’s no romance in the world of BDSM, but it’s a lie. In this world we just love different. We express it differently and it definitely holds more weight to me than the vanilla relationships I’ve been in.
